Police Brutality Proposal
Police brutality is the use of excessive force, by police officers, onto civilians. Hundreds of people have suffered from police brutality, and a great deal of the victims lost their life through the hands of a police man/woman. Cases such as Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, and more struck media’s attention, creating an uproar, and causing outrage throughout the country. Our organization, Our Hands Are Up, plans to help end police brutality, but it can’t be done without your help.
Our Hands Are Up’s mission is to successfully end police brutality and we as a team is not enough to end police brutality throughout the country, let alone the world. Our organization needs your help. Because our government only functions through the opinions of the people, if we all unite as a country, with the same motive, we can end police brutality. If police brutality doesn’t end, how can we entirely trust those, whose jobs are to protect us?
Before any petitioning, protesting, and etc can happen we must campaign in order to spread the word of our organization. Posters, signs, advertisements, anything to help get attention of the media, need to be made. Once word is spread, people can join us with protests and petitions to better the police system. The moment the petitions to better the system become active, its nothing but a smooth ride to the end of police brutality. Together, we can help protect the lives of future possible police brutality victims.
Petitioning and protesting can’t happen all over night. A campaign must take place to spread word of our organization, and a good campaign isn’t free. To help make signs, posters, fliers, and etc. we need a budget. If we can start off with a reasonable budget, soon we’ll be able to get all the signs and posters done, and ask for possible donations or start a fundraiser, if money is needed.
All in all, Our Hands Are Up’s main goal is to get rid of police brutality. With enough money, people, and motivation, we can reach that goal. The sooner we stop police brutality, the more people we can save from death and injuries caused by the police.
